What does ADORE do?▾
ADORE is a platform that gives youth opportunities to work for the betterment of society — a voluntary pan-India network of college students and professionals. Volunteers run interactive sessions for children in schools, communities, homes and shelter homes on cleanliness, soft skills, career orientation and self-development, plus the Young Leaders program, seven webinar series, skill workshops, E-Sessions and Sunshine neighbourhood classes. Everything is open to all and 100% volunteer-run.
Where is the administrative office?▾
The administrative office is in Kolkata, but ADORE works as a decentralised network — our volunteers are spread across 35+ cities of India. You don't relocate or travel: you volunteer in the town or city where you already study or work, and coordinate with the team nearest to you.
How to join ADORE?▾
Start from the Volunteer page and fill the inquiry form — the team will guide you step by step. Registration typically takes a fortnight or more: a few forms, uploading some documents, and a few rounds of discussion so both sides understand the commitment. Once onboarded, you join your city team and begin with orientation sessions before leading your own.
What do volunteers do?▾
Volunteers form teams and run youth-building activities — mostly interactive sessions with school students on topics like child safety, public speaking, career choice, health and hygiene, and personality development. Teams also run Young Leader missions, Sunshine teaching, workshops and webinars. Approaching schools and getting a positive response is a gradual process, so patience and sincerity matter more than experience.
Where do volunteers work?▾
In your own town or city, wherever you study or work. Teams pick nearby local schools, orphanages, shelter homes or informal community schools for regular sessions, and run webinars and e-sessions online — so even cities without a large team can participate.
Do volunteers work alone?▾
No. You conduct activities by coordinating with the existing volunteers in your city or town — or you team up with like-minded friends who are willing to work alongside you, and ADORE helps that group become a recognised city team with mentoring from senior volunteers.
What are the timings?▾
There are no fixed working hours — volunteering fits around college and jobs. Teams schedule school and community sessions (often on weekends), while webinars, e-sessions and planning calls happen on weekday evenings. What matters is regularity: Sunshine centres and school batches run on fixed weekly slots once committed.
